3 TEDTALKS THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR FOCUS!

Image
The moment I first discovered TedTalks, I was blown away, especially because I watched some very 'deep' ones a few of which I talked about here on the blog. Since then I tried to stick to a weekly plan of watching TedTalks weekly, well yeah i haven't been able to do that so much, but when I have the time, I try to stay inspired with some of these talks. Today's post is on three talks i recently watched and thought to share. I am confident that it will make you begin to see things very differently. It is not a long post at all as I will just put up the links to these posts and tell you a bit about them, it's now left for you to go and discover the gem yourself. Stay with me! 1) Success, Failure and the drive to keep creating by Elizabeth Gilbert :This talk lasted for only 7 minutes but trust me when I say it was power packed! Key point: You need to find what is 'home' to you and do everything within your will to always go back there. Direc...

5 WAYS TO BE 'HEARD'

Image
One of the things that people dread most is being shoved aside and not considered as relevant. The fact that nobody really pays attention to you or anything you have to say, goes a long way to affect your self esteem and confidence. As a result of that, many of us try a lot to just make ourselves noticed, some even resulted to doing it the easy ' high service ' way. In today's post, I have put together some points taken from a book I'm currently reading ( Power up, Speak up and Be heard - Kay White ) , to help us to be 'heard' wherever we find ourselves in. How was the weekend? Happy New month once again! Being Heard is not as easy as it seems and it takes a lot of continuous effort to get to that point that you become a valuable and a rather 'noticeable' person. I have five (5) points that will definitely help you with that. Stay with me! 1) Be Assertive : Notice I didn't say, 'aggressive'? Yeah that's because they're v...

#MondayInspiration || The Motivation Playlist

Image
Music is without a doubt a very powerful tool. From the lyrics to the beat, we all know how it can either lift our mood or dampen it. For this post, I have put together a playlist to help motivate you whenever you need that extra ' ginger ' to help you get productive, remind you that you're more than able to acheive all that you set your mind to, give you that needed confidence boost, and overall just to inspire you to go out there and be the best! 1) Rise Up - Andra Day This song was recommended to me by a friend and I have no regrets downloading it. The lyrics are so powerful! It talks about how sometimes we are tired, we lose hope and we break down, it also explains that we need to rise above all that and take charge! 2) Rich- MI ft Koker I love this song because it's more like an affirmation/mantra for me. It talks about how doors will open for us, and whatever we might be facing right now is temporary and will soon be history because we will all be ...

RELATIONSHIP 101|| WHO SHOULD PAY FOR THE FIRST DATE?

Image
Bonjour Mes amis! Comment allez-vous? Don't worry you're still on the right blog, I was just showing off a bit and asking how you guys are doing😊😊 remember when I said I was thinking of starting language classes? Well, I have started French classes! It's exciting too! To the business of today, you guys remember the 'question and answer' technique we used for GirlschatSeries  last year? Yeah, I realized that I had missed it terribly, mostly because I wanted some more interaction on the blog.  I'm also thinking that once in a while I could use it for posts just to add more spice, yes? Okay so today's question is one I consider quite controversial when it comes to dates and relationships. "Who Should Pay for the first date and why?"  So I asked around from my a few of my friends and I must confess, it was enlightening as well as hilarious (as always) for me. Here's what they had to say... Tobi said  " The person who asks f...

STYLE PERSONALITY: CHRISTOS OYENIRAN

Image
Hello Beautiful People! You can tell I'm excited about this post and I hope you will be too in a short while. If you missed our January style personality, you can catch up  here Our February Style Personality is a guy that I honestly love his style! The fact that style to him means more than dressing up is also something I admire. So without wasting your time, let's get right to it! A: Hello! Can you please tell us a bit about yourself? C: I'm Christos. I have 3 sisters and I love them so much,  First child and the only son. How's that for basics?  Lol A: Haha! Its cool. If I was to describe your style I would say it's very classy, but how would you describe your style? C: I describe my style as smart casual. I find the "smartest" pieces of clothing I own,  dress it up and put a twist to it.  So I sort of dangle between both worlds of business  smart and laid back casual. My style has been described by friends as "urban"  or even...

7 Things That Make Me Feel Confident

Image
Hey Guys! How was the weekend? I'm sure a lot of people are so excited that today is a public holiday, I hope you're making the most of it though? Well there's no holiday per se for me because today is my final clearance, yes that's right. That NYSC thing that I dreaded for so long is finally coming to an end. *inserts victory dance*  Watch this space for deets about my NYSC diaries! Alrighty! For some of us that are very conversant with the blog, you'd remember that I did a Self Love Challenge in August, and I talked about how it was an amazing experience Here . Now this particular post is what I'll call an aftermath of that excercise. A lot of us are aware that from self love comes self confidence, self worth, self respect and just a great self esteem generally. Some of the books I read during the challenge really explained how important it is to build up your confidence as a person because it is one of the things that determine how successful you can be i...
