Phobias, Habits and Obsessions
Hello Beautiful People,
How are you today? Great I hope. So Daniella my friend and blogger tagged me on this post about phobias, habits and obsessions, and while reading her own post I realized that we actually have some things in common. (You can see her own post Here !)
Here goes...
PHOBIAS
1) Crossing the Road: This actually started since when I was little. I remember sometimes when I see so many cars coming at me especially on those Lagos roads, I would grip my aunt hand's so tight and sometimes start crying. There's just something about so many cars coming my way without stopping, its almost like they're all out to get meπ. My friends know that I would wait till all the cars have finished passing before I cross. Sometime this year when I went home, I followed my dad somewhere and we were supposed to cross the road together, I didn't know when I gripped his hand, he just looked at me like "what's wrong with this girl?" But of course he's my dad so he didn't throw my hand away..lol.
2) Going Out: I would pick lying on my bed and pressing my phone over going out anyday! I've become so used to not going out that My dad now thrives on that. If I now ask to go out, he'll now start asking me questions which will only stress me out more so I don't even go eventually. If I'm being sent on errands my slogan is " I'll just misplace" and then they will start telling me about how I'm now an adult, blah blah. Like I care..lol I remember when I was writing My GCE exams, it was my grandma (of blessed memory) that usually took me to the centre and then I get these looks like "aww small girl" mehn I couldn't even be bothered π until I found a friend who lived close to my area then we started going together. There's just this feeling of anxiety I get when someone says "let's hang out" or "can we meet up?" Who else can relate?
3) Insects and Crawling Things: During one night prep when I was in secondary school, I was sleeping and then I suddenly woke up because I felt something enter my ear, worse still, I could feel it flying! After running to the health bay (yeah that's what we called it) the nurse couldn't remove it because it refused to come out, then she poured hydrogen peroxide that's when it started to die slowly, like I could feel all the movements. I don't even know the word to describe how I felt that day, all I know is I hate everything that crawls, flies, leaps, etc.
4) Not Fufilling Destiny: When I was in the NYSC orientation Camp, my friend Temilola and I were playing truth or dare to while away time, and one of the questions was "what fear keeps you awake at night?" And she said not fufilling Destiny. Of course we kept playing the game but it wasn't until later I started to think about that statement. We can achieve everything we want in the world, we can have everything we desire but if we're not living our lives according to the will of God, I don't think there's any "graver" mistake. There's just this constant nudge as to whether I'm on the right track or not.
HABITS
1) Frowning While Walking: I don't how i started this or why or even when, but I realized that a lot of people always ask me what a wrong anytime they meet me on the road because I'm never smiling (which of my friends reading this can relate? π) Truth is most times, nothing's wrong but because I'm so used to it, it's hard to even know when I'm actually frowning. I said most times because at other times, some human beings always annoy me with the way they stare at me like they've never seen a portable, hot lady before π but seriously people staring is not polite!
2) Being Mean to people: I'm so sure that a lot of my friends are shouting "YES" right now because I can actually be pretty mean, I kinda like always have something to say except I just don't want to. What they don't know is that I'm only mean to those I actually like and care about, weird way of showing it huh? I know but that's the truth. It's like my default mode, once I get comfortable with you, there's no escaping my "wrath"..lol.
3) Turning Everything into a song: I think I got this one from my Dad. He sings with everything and anything. But really, do you guys know that there's a song for everything , just say the word and I'll sing it. This is one habit I don't think I can outgrow.
4) Procastination: I'm with Daniella on this one. This is one habit I definitely want to stopπ£. I'm always extending something that I'm supposed to do especially blog posts. I think by now we all know that procastination is a terrible thing because it robs us of valuable time that should be spent on doing something productive.
OBSESSIONS
1) Shoes: Do I need to spell out my love and obsession with shoes? I loveeeee shoes, so for all of you who are still owing me my birthday gift you already know what I wantπ.
2) Rings: I love Rings as well. When I was much younger, I remember my dad and mum told me to stop wearing rings and they gave me one theory I can't even remember, I said okay and I removed it. The next day, I wore them again, they looked at me like I was a rebel and didn't say anything again. Instead my dad will be throwing shades at me that I'm wearing 20 naira ring and feeling myselfππ so pained! I'm not a Rebel I promise π
3) Social Media and the internet in General: I mean aren't we all obsessed? You want to know what's happening on instagram, Twitter, snapchat, etc. As a blogger it's even more compulsive because you want to promote your posts, check on Google for ideas, to mention but few. It makes me wonder what we were doing before the emergence of social media.
That's it guys! I think that's all I can remember for now. I tag Dupsey of Beautybydupsey , Amina of Aminatawastories and Moyin of Astoldbymoyin

Lol. I enjoyed reading this. And I cringed at having hydrogen peroxide poured into your ears. Must have been painful. People tell me I frown while walking too like I'm supposed to be smiling at the sky. I love shoes too.
