STYLE PERSONALITY || MARIAH TOYE
Let me first say that I'm soo sorry that 'Style Personality' hasn't up in a very long while now. Honestly I was even going to stop the segment because it just wasn't working out the way I planned it to be, but hey that's life!
However, I'm so grateful that it's up and running at least for now, I've decided that I would do it however it comes because the monthly thing wasn't doing it for me at all. I hope you guys understand? Please do, thank you 🙏🙏
Today we have the very beautiful and stylish Mariah as our style personality! Yaay! Mariah is a very pleasant person and when I reached out to her for this, I was very impressed, she's honestly very amazing and has a great sense of style. Today we are talking about her style, her brand and everything in between.

A: Hi, can you please introduce yourself?
M: I am Toye Maria oluwadamilola by name but also known as Mariahgorati
A: Style has a wide range of meaning to different people, what does it mean to you?
M: Style is a way to make closer your relationship to yourself, as its focus and orientation is on the self and how it’s reflected and expressed by clothing choices.
Style has a dynamic nature too, but its dynamism has to do with the expression of who you are and your sense of self. It’s about honouring your uniqueness and having your outsides match your insides.
style goes beyond just clothes you know. Your voice, your posture, your choice of words, your haistyle, the way you carry yourself as a long roll to play in your sense of style and it is affected by religion, politics, culture and subculture, weather, body type, profession, upbringing and a whole lot of other things.
Having said all this style to me is "An individual's unique choice to how a person wants to present themselves and be perceived".
A: Wow! Amazing definition!
How would you describe your style?
M: I will say I love to look
-Simple. - simple
- clean - elegant
- Edgy - classy
-Structured : I prefer tailored to boho
- and Sexy.
A: What would you say is the most important style tip?
M: The trick is "Always be yourself", never try to be anyone else.
When developing a personal style, it’s helpful to remember that you already have one. Personal style is equal parts taste and function, and you’vesurely developed taste over time.
A: So true. Who/ What inspires your style?
M: Well, a lot of things do and a couple of people.
My body structure, I always remember that.
Rihanna, how I love that lady. She's glamorous and sexy at the same time. I have a lot of people I look up too and yeah, bae inspires me to get better because he is a Fashion King so you know I need to be his Queen ☺.

In recent times, I have noticed a huge improvement in the Nigerian fashion industry, but let me ask you is there still any area in particular that you think they're still lagging behind and probably need to improve more? Why?
M: Nigeria Fashion industry has really grown and I don't think there's anything to change rather we should focus on making it better.
A: I totally agree with that. I've seen your Instagram page and I noticed that you're also into the sale of fashion items. Would you say your love for style and fashion prompted you to go into this business?
M: Well, not really but it definitely had something to do with my choice of business.
A: Cool, so let me ask you what 'carryover' trends from last year do you think will stay awhile in 2017 and why?
M: flappy sleeves, Fringe,fringe and again I say fringe lol
Fringe tops, jackets, skirts and dresses. I actually pray they stay forever, lol.
A: I know! Fringe is so I'm and I can't wait to pay my hands on some. From personal observation (correct me if I'm wrong), I see that you have a thing for wide leg pants, I mean I know they're pretty comfy and stylish but is there any particular reason as to why?
M: You honestly just answered it all. They are stylish and comfortable and yeah, I want to sometimes look bigger because obviously I'm skinny 😀
A: I can so relate with that 😂
Can you describe in details your perfect date night outfit?
M: It's definitely gonna be cold so you could wear
A mini strap sleeve velvet dress with a fur/ Jean jacket
Long straight hair with a statement crystal chocker
A glitter clutch and a see through heel sandals
A: Y'all I wasn't kidding when I said she has an amazing sense of style! I can already picture myself in that😊
Do you plan on going into fashion more 'professionally'? For instance styling people, etc.
M: Hell yeah! I would love to have a fashion line of my own, God's willing.
A: Amen to that sister! What do you currently do at the moment?
M: I am a student and an entrepreneur.

In your own view, what would you classify as essentials for a lady's wardrobe?
M: Thank you for asking me this question. Every girl needs to have a CURVE CONTROL STICK UP BRA. it's a miracle I must say, I wear them and they never faill me so please you need to have one of this.

M: lol, you seem to know alot. Well we all know alot of girls wears random lingerie and under garments but GoratisLingerie is on a mission to change that.
We sell luxury lingerie and swimwears.

Style and Fashion is clearly a huge part of you, how do you think you can make a difference with this aspect of your life especially to people who admire and look up to you?
M: I mentioned earlier I would love to have a clothing line of my own. That way i would be able to make clean Stylish clothing available for a lot of people, but male and female.

A: That will be so nice, we would be looking forward to it and praying for it to come to reality. What is the number one thing on your fashion wishlist this year?
M: Building my Brand.
