#mondayinspiration || 8 Success Principles + Giveaway Winners!
So I'm currently reading this book 'How to Get From Where You Are To Where You Want To Be' by Jack Canfield, and it's a real gem I must confess, by the time you're reading it, you will begin to realize how you much you still have left to do in order to live the life of your dreams.
You guys already know I'm a nice person, that's why I've decided to share some lessons that I've learned so far. Also I'll be announcing the giveaway winners later in the post, so stick around! π
There are certain principles of success that we need to apply in our lives daily that will take us closer to dreams by the minute.
Here goes...
1) Take 100% Responsibility For Your Life: I mean, it's yours afterall. There is only one person responsible for the quality of the life you live and that person is you. For you to be successful in life, you have to take full responsibility for everything that you experience: be it your level of achievements, the kind of relationships you have, the state of your health and physical fitness, income, debts and just basically everything! Now I'm not saying this is quite easy, a lot of us still struggle with this as we tend to blame everything else and everyone else for anything negative in our lives. This shouldn't be. Take full responsibility for your life!
2) Give Up All Your Excuses: Stop trying to be the victim all the time! "99% of all the failures come from people who have a habit of making excuses." - George Washington Carver
In this part of the world especially, we tend to make excuses and complain a lot! It's easier than having to take risks I guess. We can all agree that these decisions can be difficult, uncomfortable and confusing, but most times it's always worth a try at least and it is wayyy better than sitting down and complaining all year long.
Moral lesson: Risk it to get the Biscuit!
3) Be Clear Why You're Here: In other words, Know your purpose. We talked about purpose about two weeks ago and a know what exactly makes purpose. This success principle says that you need to establish your purpose and understand the reason why God has created you and then you begin to work towards fufilling it. When you're truly on purpose, resources and opportunities will naturally gravitate towards you. It's not just enough to find your purpose, you need to STAY on purpose as well!
4) Decide What You Want: After finding your purpose, you then have to sit down and decide what exactly you want out of this life you're living. Without firm and proper planning and evaluation, you might actually begin to live another person's dreams at the expense of yours. We don't want that now, do we?
5) Believe it's Possible and Believe in Yourself: Whatever it is, it is possible. All you need is a little faith in yourself and that it will work. Start thinking more positively.
6) Unleash the Power of Goal-Setting: Now it's time to make those clear, realistic and attainable goals. At this point, you'll need your goal book because writing these goals down will make your subconscious mind knwo what to work on and how to go about it. Don't be afraid to write the goals that will stretch you, the goals that will require you to grow and develop yourself in order to achieve them. Apart from writing them down, you need to read them out loud to yourself at least 3 times a day. There will be fears, roadblocks and some considerations along the way, don't let them deter you.
7) Release The Brakes: At some point in your life (which is now by the way) , you need to let go of the brakes and you'll see yourself going faster. Holding on to the brakes can sometimes limit us to that place called 'comfort zone' , and we already know that great things never came from that place. Don't limit yourself, you were made to soar not crawl, begin to talk yourself into achieving great things. You may need to change your behaviour, mindset and even your circle of friends as you realease the brakes, but don't worry it only gets better.
8) Act As If: This means that you have to start thinking like, talking like, dressing like, acting like and feeling like the person who has already achieved your goal. Acting as if sends some very powerful messages to your subconscious mind that will in turn help you find more creative ways to acheive the set goals. Faith it till you make it, right?
That's it for today guys!
